Most power plant projects are important national infrastructure assets, which require sophisticated technology and know-how. samsung C&T completed building, Uljin nuclear reactors No. 5 and 6 in 2005, which were followed by orders for the New Wolsung Nuclear Plant and a radioactive waste treatment center. Particularly, in the area of power generation, we have all the core technologies for nuclear power, combined cycle power, pumping-up power, tidal power, and power distribution. In addition, we have successfully completed many projects related to energy storage, and industrial and environmental facilities.

Samsung E&C seeks to grow the nuclear energy business into one of the nation’s most critical industries. We have been recognized as a leading nuclear power plant builder by completing in 2005 the Uljin Nos. 5 and 6 reactors, which earned us the brand name in the area and securing in 2003 the order to build the Shin-Wolsong nuclear power plant, which granted us the recognition as a builder in all stages of nuclear power plant construction. Based on these experiences and technical know-how, Samsung E&C succeeded in December 2009 in winning as one of the contractors for the $40-billion Abu Dhabi nuclear plant project.
